New 2011 Adherence Rules
by X Y - Association Rules 2011
(To be critiqued and voted on in the 2011 Gen. Assembly)
Global Structure and Functions
The association is divided into two main divisions: adherents and non-adherent.
1- An Adherent is anyone who attends the Sclinic.
2- A Non-Adherent is anyone who is an Auditor or Volunteer.
The Adherents are divided into two main positions:
1.1 - Trustees = anyone who participates in the Sclinic and is voted in as a Trustee after
a certain amount of work at PLACE.
1.2 - Sclinic Participant = anyone who participates in the Sclinic.
A Sclinic participant is anyone who pays tuition entitling them to cartels and/or seminars.
A Sclinic participant may also participate in an Extension Project And The Pass (see catalogue).
Local Structure And Functions
1) The 2010 website committee was set up to introduce an Extension Project. To work on the website of PLACE and has nothing to do with the teaching interface site of the Sclinic except as a link.
2) As any other committee (Grant, Accredation, etc.) changes or 'help' offered to the PLACE website by individuals – volunteers or guests – is welcome, but the committee is
set up as a work of collective action and includes at least one trustee that authorizes its function.
3) Any changes proposed to the website must first be voted on by the website committee, then by the trustees of PLACE. In fact, to finalize any project of any committee it must be voted on by the trustees of PLACE.
4) Only those teaching in the Sclinic and administrating at PLACE have access to the Sclinic Moodle site.
With regard to functions/positions and the relation to payment of tuition:
5) A trustee must be a participant in a cartel, thus, must be in the sclinic, thus must pay tuition. (A motion has been put forward to replace the payment of tuition for the payment
of dues for either those who have gone through the pass or who would like the time to prepare for the pass).
6) If you are a non-trustee adherent, you are either a sclinic student (nontrustee) or guest.
a - If you are sclinic student you must pay tuition may and can participate in the general assembly, seminar, cartel, committees, pass, and extension project.
b- If you are a guest (scholarship or loan recipients), you pay half tuition and can participate in only the seminar, and by invitation other functions (Cartels, Committees, etc.).
c- if you are a non-adherent volunteer or auditor, you pay zero and may sit in on the seminar for one semester only. Invitations to only the committees may be offered.
d- Only those attending the Sclinic may participate and vote in the General Assembly.
e - Those non-adherents wishing to attend to the General Assembly may be invited by a Trustee.
